@ 8:35 PM
Heard from Suzanne that HSS students now have an opportunity to pursue a second major in Communications Studies. Went to check it out, it was so tempting.Problem? I'm not sure if I will be able to cope with it. Starting a second major in year 2 is kind of taxing, isn't it? Sigh. A minor is easier, but...I'm undecided.

Superhost @ 1:19 PM
Watched the finale of Superhost last night. It was a great competition overall, but the results shocked me nonetheless. Or I should say, the results disappointed me. The best man did not win; the winner won based on popularity. In my opinion, in the quest for a Superhost, the emphasis should not be split between popularity and talent. Superhost is a competition different from the rest. The winner should win based on merit, and not popularity. Popularity for a host can be accumulated, talent should always be the emphasis. Without the talent, even with intense training, you won't make it big as a host. Talent, on the other hand, coupled with training, makes one a Superhost.Well, I'm just voicing my opinions here. It's really a pity that Lee Teng won based on merit, but lost based on popularity.

I don't understand...really... @ 12:20 PM
I don't understand why people have to criticise others publicly, on their forums. It's so uncouth. Seen a lot of these at forums for the various competitions. People criticising other contestants just because their fave contestants did not get into the next round. The contestants themselves are humans too, don't those people care for their feelings? Being in a competition is stressful, why add on to their stress with those ugly comments?I don't like certain contestants too, but does that mean I have the right to criticise them? I don't. And others don't too. Sick and tired of those criticisms on the forums. Maybe they should ban such criticisms. Unconstructive criticisms.

Idolisation @ 10:27 AM
Idolisation. A word I came across while watching tv. A word which is very much apt for describing the youth culture in Singapore today. To me, the word can mean two things. One, it means the fans. Two, it means the contestants. Fans have the right and the time to chase their idols. Ordinary people like you and me can become pop sensations overnight, by joining the many various competitions going on. Singapore Idol, Star Idol, Superhost, Superstar, and Campus Superstar. Join any of them, and you might just be the next pop sensation in Singapore. Some say Singapore is losing its identity. Some say Singapore don't have an identity to begin with. Well, I don't agree with that. Youth culture in Singapore is very strong, stronger than you and I are aware of. Idolisation....

Friends @ 10:30 AM
Friends. That one word, seven letters, may seem small, but there are an important part of our life. You have to admit that; friends make our world spin in colours.Throughout my life, I have friends around me in all stages of my life. Friends have made me grow, mature. However, close friends are hard to come by. Friends we may be, but we may not necessarily be close friends. I admit, it is hard for me to be close friends with someone and share all secrets with. I need time to warm up to people, which is why some people may find me a cold, cool person. Believe me, I have heard that of me before. Why is it then? I don't really know. Perhaps I have been betrayed by a friend before. Perhaps I find friends who can connect with me. Perhaps, a million perhaps to that answer. To me, a close friend is someone who shares the same interests with me, someone who will forgive all my faults, and someone who I feel a connection with. Some may say, then your close friend is yourself. This, I won't refute, but I won't agree totally either. Sometimes, I feel I don't even understand myself.Despite all, I trust I do have close friends, even friends whom I have not been in much contact with recently can be my close friends.I trust and believe in everlasting friendship. Give and take applies to friendship as well as emotional relationships. :-)

Happy Valentine! @ 9:57 AM
Happy Valentine's Day!!!It may be late, but the sincerity is there. Valentine's Day, a day which some call the Single Awareness Day (it sounds bad, like an insult to the singles). It is also a day which some call Friendship Day.Whatever it is, Valentine's Day is still a day to be remembered.

MRT Chronicles @ 9:57 AM
After travelling by the MRT for so long, I have a lot of things to say. Let's begin by this one...
I remember it was a hot humid Monday afternoon. I was going to meet my sister at Hougang Mall to buy things. Since it was more convenient to take the MRT instead of the bus, I walked to the MRT station under the unrelenting sun.Alas, when I reached there, I realized the MRT was faulty. The personnels in charge were running here and there trying to slove the problem. The MRTs were not coming forth at their designated time. People around me started to get flustered. Angry and impatient faces were all around me. Ok, I admit, I was one of those. I thought it was just a normal technical problem and that it would blow over soon. Boy, was I wrong. After a while, the personnels told us that the MRT would resume operations in 5 minutes. I trusted them, and waited for the MRT to come. I waited and waited, but there was just no MRT in sight. Irritated, people started to walk away and decided to take the bus instead. However, I waited...and finally, the MRT came into view.Happily, I boarded the MRT, expecting to reach HM in 5 minutes. That was the usual time I take to reach there by MRT. Well, I did reach there by 5 minutes, but the train paused at Hougang station longer than usual. Passagers who were unaware of what had happened, boarded the train happily, thinking it was their lucky day. But, the train remained there for about 10 minutes. The problem was not solved. After waiting and waiting, the train finally moved off. I went to meet my sister (who was stuck in the MRT as well on the other side). That's all, more will come...

Moments in Life... @ 9:48 AM
There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real! When the door of happiness closes, another opens;but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the onewhich has been opened for us.Don't go for looks; they can deceive.Don't go for wealth; even that fades away.Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.Find the one that makes your heart smile.Dream what you want to dream;go where you want to go;be what you want to be,because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, andenough hope to make you happy. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;they just make the most ofeverything that comes along their way.The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past;you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.:)Don't count the years--count the memories...........Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away!

New handphone! @ 12:35 PM
Bought a new handphone last night. After waiting for so long, I can finally upgrade... :-)My new dearie is now a Samsung E530C. Have been wanting to buy this phone since last year. Yeah! The bluetooth is good, the camara is good, everything is good. Haha. I'm so excited over this new phone. The only regret is that I did not get the phone in my fave colour. It would have been more perfect if it had been either blue or pink. Oh well, whatever. At least I got orange, and not chalky white. The orange is nice too. Bright and sporty feel. Goona take photos with my phone and post it some other time.In the meantime, it's time to say to good bye. :P

Fireworks! @ 1:40 PM
Went to the Singapore River Hongbao last night. That was the second time I went there this new year. Went to support my bro who had a performance there last night. I must admit, they looked quite suave in their BB uniforms. Yet, their legs looked so short! Haha. I don't mean to offend, that was just a thought that flashed across my mind when I saw them last night. No hard feelings intended. Still, the best part came later. While walking to retrieve my father's car, we heard there was going to be a fireworks display. We stayed and watched the magnifcent fireworks display outside the Fullerton Hotel. It was simply breath-taking. No words can describe how I feel then. Really, I'm telling the truth. To watch the fireworks from such close range...directly in front of me...Many of the fireworks looked like flowers, some even looked like dogs. Haha. Still, my favourite was those that looked like shooting stars(the way they shot up from below and flew past like real shooting stars...) I'm simply wow-struck, if there's such a word.Guess u can guess I really like fireworks. :PP/s: I walked miles and miles before finding my dad's car. Focus on 'finding', and guess what happened.

I'm back! @ 8:34 PM
Haven't been blogging for quite a while. Why? You may ask. Well, there is nothing interesting to write in the time I have been absent from the blogging world. :PI will start with the film on 'The Merchant of Venice'. It is a wonderful film. No lies, no doubts. I especially like the part where Portia and Bassanio declare their affections for each other. It was beautifully filmed. It was so sweet...The court scene was nice as well. As I was watching it, it almost feel as if I'm present in the court itself. Hmm... The reunion at the end was both sweet and hilarious. I don't think I need to expain why it's sweet. Do I? I can't exactly pinpoint why it's hilarious. Maybe it's because of the way the words were conveyed across. Or something else. Whatever.Overall, the film is good. It's worth the time spent travelling to and fro just to watch it. Haha. Happy Chinese New Year! 旺旺!(Pissst, today is the fifth day and it happens to be the God of Fortune's birthday.) :>
