Superhost @ 1:19 PM

Watched the finale of Superhost last night. It was a great competition overall, but the results shocked me nonetheless. Or I should say, the results disappointed me. The best man did not win; the winner won based on popularity.

In my opinion, in the quest for a Superhost, the emphasis should not be split between popularity and talent. Superhost is a competition different from the rest. The winner should win based on merit, and not popularity. Popularity for a host can be accumulated, talent should always be the emphasis. Without the talent, even with intense training, you won't make it big as a host. Talent, on the other hand, coupled with training, makes one a Superhost.

Well, I'm just voicing my opinions here. It's really a pity that Lee Teng won based on merit, but lost based on popularity.
