Superstars @ 5:57 PM

Saw 5 superstars yesterday on campus. Guess who they are? :P

Leon, Chanel, Sugi, Sandra and William were there. I was just about to go to class when I passed by the concert that was going on, and heard the hosts announced the arrival of the superstars. Wow, I just stopped walking and stay rooted to the ground. It was no exaggeration, haha. I stayed and listened to them sing a song together before reluctantly walked away. I sound star-struck, don' t I? I will tell you why. Leon was about sing a song by himself. I like his singing, among the others who were there yesterday.

Just wish I didn't have a class on then. I would go on watching then. Kidding...

Alyssa and Milk @ 12:13 PM

Inspired by friends' blogs, so here I am, presenting to you who I think has the best body. There's only one for both females and males respectively.

Female: Alyssa Milano

Think she has a great athletic body. Really toned. Plus, she is beautiful with a beautiful face shape.

Male: Milk aka Ye Yi Hua

Like Alyssa, he has a good athletic body. And he's muscular in the healthy way.

Trendy Me @ 11:42 AM

Did an online quiz and it says I'm a trendy person. So flattered. I would like to think I'm indeed trendy. No harm thinking this way. Hahaha. Guess everyone can be trendy in their own way. I admit I go by the fashions. I'm a fashion fanatic.

Birthday wishes @ 11:00 AM

The celebration may have flopped, but I'm still gonna make my birthday wishes. After all, the big day is tomorrow. :P

lst wish:

To stay in the pink of health.

2nd wish:

To get what I desire for, which is a lot.

3rd wish:

Love.

Monday is blogging day. @ 10:37 AM

I seem to blog every monday, I don't even blog on other days. Haha. Hmm, let's start with what happened last week.

Tuesday: HL 105's tutorial was super boring, just as it did during lecture. Guess I'm a little prejudiced towards Wargner. Did I spell her name correctly? On my way back home, it rained, and on top of that, the MRT seemed to be faulty, it delayed for almost every stop. Now, what's happening?

Wednesday: As usual, I like Quigley's lecture. The film on 'A Midsummer's Night Dream' was way off context, as in the time period. It was hilarious though, especially the actress who played Helena. The MRT, like Tuesday, was against me, it delayed on my way to school.

Thursday: Jernigan scared the hell oout of me yet again. He was so fierce towards that girl who came into the theatre to search for her handphone. People seem to lose their handphones around NTU quite often. I wonder why? That girl was rude to come in like she did, but I don't think it warranted such a fierce attitude from Jernigan.

Friday: Went through the lecture without knowing the material beforehand. Not that I don't want to, but the book was not in the book store yet.

Saturady: Started reading Max Havelaar, and I'm still at it now, and not even half'way through. Went to AMK for dinner, and I noticed that every proprieter was so rude. No wonder Singapore's customer service level is dripping.

(ignore this)Sunday: The worst day of the week. My family were supposed to celebrate my b'day with me in advance. My sister even ordered the cake for me. But, guess what happened. There wasn't even a celebration, my dad rushed off to buy 4D after singing the song. My mum decided to go to Chinatown, and they did go there, and came back empty-handed. Where were the new year goods they said they were going to buy? I was so mad at them. I don't even care if I sound petty here. ONLY MY SISTER was sincere in celebrating my b'day.

Ok, gonna end here. PLease ignore what I said about Sunday. Just wanna let it all out of my system.

Joseph Conrad @ 9:23 AM

After reading a short story from Conrad yesterday, I think I'm not as prejudiced towards Conrad as before. What put me off Conrad was his 'Heart of Darkness'. It was super dry and I never got round to finishing the whole story.

However, after reading 'The Lagoon' last night, I realised his short stories are actually quite enjoyable and digestable. It was the shortest story in the collection, so I guess you know the reason for me reading it in the first place. Now, I wonder if the other stories are as interesting?

Still, I find it a chore having to attend SIngapore Lit lecture later on. Luckily, there are presentations, so I guess it's gonna make the time go faster, if you know what I mean. That first lecture really put me off...

Beautiful skin.. @ 11:48 AM

Saw Shanice on tv last night. Haven't seen her in a long time and she looks so different from what she used to be. Her skin condition has visibly improved, and I'm happy for her. I mean, which girl does not wish to have beautiful, flawless skin?

I don't really trust beauty consultants in the past. It's hard to trust them when their endorsers are celebrities. You know what I mean.. Still, I have my own reservations. Each person's skin is unique and not all treatments work for everyone. Hence, I still believe in my own maxim. That is,
i) to wash my face thoroughly and,
ii) eat and drink loads of fruits and water respectively.

Believe me, it works. (Though I have heard of a person who does not eat fruits regularly and still has beautiful skin..hmm..all I can say is, she is blessed..)

Too much readings! @ 11:29 AM

Sem 2 is truly different from sem 1. Professors are asking us to do presentations one after another. I must say I don't like doing presentations that much. I agree with what Prof. Jernigan said before, when we do presentations, we tend to focus on our topic and ignore the rest. Now, I wonder why other professors don't see the point?

Too much readings and too little time! Well, actually, that is not totally the case. The truth is, I have been spending my time watching tv. Hmm.. not a very good way to kick start the new sem, is it? It's been 2 weeks and I'm no where near 'study mode'. I only do my readings and other school-related stuff at night, after I'm done being a couch-potato...Guess that has to stop soon. Luckily for me, the shows I'm watching are all coming to an end soon..By then, I guess I can finally start being studious student I should be, if I want to improve my grades this sem..

Notice I change the song? This is one song which I don't have on my lappy. This way, I can hear it whenever I blog! :))

Revamped! @ 5:30 PM

I have not been blogging recently. Not that I have any excuse. Haha. Finally, I have given my blog a refreshing new look, and I am very satisfied with it. It's really nice, at least to me. (signing off..)

okay, let's start with writing about a just-finished show-- Reaching for the stars by SHE

well, i just have to say, this idol drama series, truly touches my heart especially at the end, where that so called chairperson, stepped down and the true Zhou Xiao Nuo ascended the position as chairperson. Then, Ren Jie and ZhengHao got together, finally. Thank god! hahaz.. As for the role, played by Selina-- Xinlei, although, she did not have a partner in this show, she becomes mature and is no longer the spoilt-brat. That takes a loooong time to change.

For the rating of this show, i will give 3.5 over 5 as there is still room for improvement in the artistes' acting. The whole series is simple and beautiful just like fairytales where that is ups and downs, good versus bad and the bad ones always lose out in the end!!

hahahahaz

this is not by lesli but by EMIlY!!! ( i know english very bad, will try to improve next time!)*( hope u understand)

;p

LOVE is the word... @ 12:23 PM

After wathing last night's charity gala, I was filled with thoughts. It seemed at the end of the gala that Singapore is slowly recovering from the fiasco that rocked the charity climate in Singapore for the latter half of 2005. RenCi Hospital managed to raised close to 7 million dollars last night. It was a feat and it made me proud of Singapore.

Singapore has always prided itself for its selfless nature when it comes to charity and helping the needed and disadvantaged. It always managed to garner millions of dollars for every charity event. That is, until the NKF fiasco. Since then, charity in Singapore became stuck in a muddy slump. Many people were disgusted with the way the former NKF management managed the funds raised to help the sick. Other charity organisations became affected as a result.

When Master Ming Yi cried last night, I'm sure many tears of the public were shed as well. The numbers shot up tremendously. Many must have felt the heartfelt tears and feelings of the Master.

Sure hope that last night's 感动 continues on among my fellow Singaporeans forever more. I remember what Ella from SHE said last night. She said that the patients' skies are now grey, but they can become a brilliant blue if we put in our effort to help them. I was moved by that sentence. She is right, we can help make the patients' skies a brilliant blue. All we need is a little trust and effort from everyone...

LOST @ 11:08 PM

I didn't plan on blogging today. However, something really frustrating happened today. I was late for class and I had to lose my way on top of that. Funny thing is, I told my friend the directions earlier and I ended losing my way instead. I was in the correct building, but the wrong part! Can you image my frustration then? I even contemplated missing class altogether... I had no problem finding my way around last sem, except on the first day. Even then, today's incident had to count as the WORST.

3rd Jan ~ time really flies... @ 11:33 PM

Last year this time, I was slacking at home. Just finished my As a while back. Looking for a job. This year, I am back to school, back to being a student and making friends. The difference does not end there, this year, I'm gonna say good bye to my teenage life. It does not seem too bad, except I have to wave good bye really soon..in 3 weeks time. I feel so old. Haha. I'm at the closing years of my teenage life and I haven't learn how to drive yet. I had wanted to when I was 18. But, well, I procrastinate, just like other aspects of my life.

lst day back in uni. Hmm.. I spent a bomb on my books for this one sem, at one go. *Heart pain* I was thinking it would not have been so bad if the books I bought all fascinate me. But not all do. One of the books was even written by one of my hated writers of all times! I like reading and wouldn't mind spending money on books i DO ENJOY.

Yah!!! 2006!!! @ 4:05 PM

2006 - a year of fresh beginnings and hopes........ 2005 had been an eventful year, hopefully 2006 will be a peaceful and at the same time exciting year.

My second semester at ntu will start tomorrow. Wow, can't believe I'm going to begin a new sem. Everything seems to go faster than usual. Last sem, I have been too withdrawn, I don't really mingle well... Well, that is gonna change, I hope. One of my new year resolutions is to be a more proactive person. Yes, I said that, and I will make it true. Being passive has too many disadvantages; I missed the 'me' back in secondary school...Hmm..

Went to check the number of vacancies for each class earlier. I'm really curious as to many people regustered for the module. When I registered, the module fared the worst among other modules. Can you believe it when I say there are only 6 people in the 'Romanticism and Sensibility' class. To admit the truth, there are a lot of readings for that class...maybe that scared people off? Can't even begin to imagine being in a class where there's only 6 people...hopefully, there's someone I'm close with in that class...there is this fear of being in a class where there's only a handful...

Another notable thing for this sem is that I'm staying home and not in the hostels. I still prefer staying at home, where everything's within reach. The one bad thing is I have to jostle with people in the MRT and bus. Hmm... Heard from my mum earlier that hostel fees are on the increase. She seemed really glad all of a sudden when she said that. Guess she is relieved at being able to save on a sum of money. She is that practical...

Lastly, I have been thinking of changing my specs for a pair of contact lens for quite a while now. I think I look better without specs. Comments? If I do get a pair, THAT would mark the start of my makeover for this year. I'm really serious about the makeover...

THIS is one long post... ((:
